FRIENDS ONLY

November 10th, 2005 (10:15 pm)

F.O. banner made for me and ONLY ME by [info]laceandtattoos - Request your own at [info]vanishedicons

I just did a minor friends cut. I cut people with multiple journals (I deleted the old/un-updated journals), people I never connected with, etc.

I'm going to be more diligent about keeping my journal friends only. I've let a few entries slide in the past, I'm not going to do that anymore. Also, now that Justin and I live together and share a computer, I'm not online as much as I used to be. Not to mention sitting at a computer desk 40 hours a week at work doesn't exactly get me motivated to sit at the computer while at home ;) However, I always read every single entry on my friend's page to keep myself updated on the going-ons. Even if I don't comment, I always read and I'll make comments when I have the time and motivation :)

If you'd like to be added please read MY INFO first. If you sincerely think we'd get along then go ahead and make a comment here :)

I have some free time... figure I'd give a quick uppy date

JH works two PT jobs. He works in the shipping department at Centerfire (his "main" job, where he would usually work FT). He also works at a nature preserve. He's only working at the preserve for the summer; it counts as a required internship he'll need in order to graduate in May. Anyway, as of last Tuesday I too am working at Centerfire. Although, not in shipping. They just got a new computer system and I am helping transferring data from the old system to the new. That's a big reason I haven't been online much. After spending 8 hours a day in front of a computer at work I don't have much motivation to get on the computer while at home. So, my work situation is FINALLY picking up. It's a nice environment, good people, I really like my manager. Our supervisor bought everyone Chinese food for lunch today. Twas yummy :9

Our 4th of July weekend was fairly uneventful. We bought some much needed new home furnishings. We got a big black bookcase for the living room. I love it. It's so nice to have a place for our excessive amounts of stuff, it looks good. We also got a floor lamp for our bedroom. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY... I FINALLY bought a coffee maker! :D I've had my espresso machine so I haven't been completely deprived of coffee, but a coffee maker is so much quicker and more convenient than espresso.

Grrr... the guy who lives above us is setting off fireworks in the parking lot. Independence Day was YESTERDAY! Shut up, you're scaring my poor puppy! :'(

Well, I think I'm going to go read for awhile then go for a walk with Ruby and JH...

JH and I are at the library. I don't really have much to blog about...

While driving here, I swear to God, I saw a marmot (or maybe a groundhog?) sitting next to a tree near the side of the road (no, it wasn't road kill, it was alive). We were driving through campus (a big university campus near downtown Lexington). The critter just seemed so out of place. I don't know for sure what it was, but it was most definitely WAY too big to be a squirrel and I know for sure that it was not a raccoon or opossum. Anyway, it was cute.

lol, Moo, I had the weirdest dream about you last night. I was in Seattle and I wanted to go visit you. So, I went by your apartment. I knocked and someone yelled "come in", so in I went. Your living room was transformed into a photography studio and you explained to me that you just got a new job as a photographer's assistant. Then you went on to say something along the lines of I'm really busy, my job is very important, and I don't have time for you. So I was sad and I left. lol, that was it. bitch ;)

Oh yeah, Starbucks crap. As I said before I had an interview last Wednesday at a Lexington Starbucks. There happened to be four Lexington Starbucks locations and one Frankfort (about 30 minutes west of Lexington - the state capital) location that were hiring. The manager who interviewed me asked if I had a preference on which one I'd like to work at. I told him I'd prefer Lexington, but I'd go to Frankfort if need be. So, on Friday, I got a call from the manager at the Frankfort Starbucks saying he wanted to have a second interview with me. He said he would call me back early this week and set up an interview time for later in the week. Well, he never called. So, I called twice on Thursday then three times on Friday. I never got an answer! I thought about just going down there, but 1) I've never even been to Frankfort 2) I don't know if there's more than one Starbucks in Frankfort 3) I don't have an address, I'd have to go to starbucks.com and compare all the Frankfort Starbucks' addresses to the phone number I have AND 4) Even if I do drive all the way out there there's no guarantee that the manager would even be there. So fuck it. I have another job lined up (I've had this job as a possibility before I even got to Lexington). It's where JH works PT; I'd be doing similar work to what I did at Sun Precautions. I wanted to be a big girl and try to find my own work before deciding to go there for sure, but it looks as though I will probably be working there, at least for the time being. They pay more than Starbucks anyway :p

Well, it's Saturday so the library closes early today (5pm), so I best go finish up the other stuff I wanted to do...

We just had the COOLEST storm go by! The kind when you can see the actual lightening bolts in the sky <3 I was leaning up against the sliding glass door and it was shaking so hard from the thunder. Crazy. The ground was WHITE from hail. So awesome. I love storms <3

Poor Champ got scared though, but he's doing better now that its passed. lol, he's actually standing here with his big labby head resting in my lap wondering why I'm not petting him ;)

Actually, it may be my last night PERIOD here :'(

Moo and I just ordered a couple Papa John's pizzas and breadsticks. YUM! I want them NOW... SO. HUNGRY. Beer and pizza just sounds so fucking good right now *drools*

I got A TON packed today. Well, just about everything. I still have a few odds and ends I need to pack up, but for the most part everything is ready to go. I'll probably pack up Ruby's cupboard of bandanas, treats, clothes, etc later tonight then call it good for today.

Massive moving starts tomorrow. Meh...

GAH! I am so tired, I want to sit at home and relax, BUT NO

Ruby and I are out at mom & dad's right now. Anywho...

Tuesday night was fun. Too fun, really. Cerissa and I went over to Kris and Josh's house in Ellensburg. They had a huge ass party for Cerissa. Around midnight about 15 people (including Cerissa) left to do a bar run. I stayed at the party with Jessica, Katie, and quite a few other people. We mostly just played some drinking games and what not. It was a really fun time. Around 2am Cerissa and a few others showed back up at the house. Cerissa was so fucked up (but hey, that's what's supposed to happen on your 21st birthday, right?). She walked in, stumbled over to me, sat in my lap... mumbled something or other, then ran to the bathroom. Poor little girl ;) She spent most of the evening in the bathroom. Katie, Kris, and I kept an eye on her. Eventually we made it into the fold out bed into the living room. Cerissa was out by the time her head hit the pillow, lol. Needless to say, we were both feeling pretty damn nasty Wednesday morning and didn't make it back to Everett until around 5pm. Oh well, it was a fun time :)

So now I'm in Monroe getting some laundry done and dropping Ruby off here for the weekend. Poo :( I'm going to be away from my puppy for 3 or 4 days :'(

I'm going BACK to Ellensburg tomorrow morning. From there Cerissa and I are going to a wedding in IDAHO. Yipppppie. We're going to do some hiking in the Rockies on Saturday then heading back to Ellensburg on Sunday. Depending on what time we make it back to Ellensburg I'll either crash there overnight and head back Monday or I'll just drive home Sunday. We shall see.

BLARG. Tuesday I'm "modeling" for Vicki, Modest Mouse concert Wednesday (YEA!), then JH arrives SUNDAY! Only TEN DAYS away!! :D

I've got a busy couple months ahead of me...

Blarg. Didn't do much today. Went on a couple walks with Ruby. During our second we encountered the "dog loving blonde girl". I hadn't seen her in awhile. She's probably about my age, possibly a year or two younger. She can be like two blocks away and if she sees Ruby and I she'll come running over asking if she can pet my dog. Even though I've seen her a dozen times, she always asks first :) One time she was a passenger in a MOVING CAR, made the driver PULL OVER, hopped out and came over to visit Ruby. lol, she's nice :)

I got a coupon in the mail yesterday for $5 off any purchase $25 or more at Borders. I've been wanting/needing some new reading material so I decided to put the coupon to use. I came out with three books. I finished the first today, "It's My F---ing Birthday" by Merrill Markoe. I really enjoyed and would recommend it. Here's some REVIEWS since I am much too tired to write my own. I plan on starting "Flip-Flopped" by Jill Smolinski tonight. Right now actually, I'm getting sleepy. Has anyone read it?

I look like Skipper, Barbie's younger sister
LOL!

But she gave me her leftover Pad Thai... Y-U-M. So I love her.

I need help!
I just got back from taking Ruby for a walk and am about to pop in 'Two Weeks Notice'. I had a hankering to watch that a couple weeks ago and am just getting around to doing so. However, this is where you all come in, my Netflix queue is getting DANGEROUSLY low so I need some movie recommendations! Any movie, throw them out there. Even if I've seen it, I'll add it. Unless of course, I own it, that would just be silly. Since I only own about 10 DVDs, I don't see that being a major issue. I'm pretty open minded...
I love musicals - IE 'Evita'
I love classics - IE 'Some Like it Hot'
I love randomness - IE 'The Big Lebowski'
I love movies that are so insanely stupid and hilarious they don't need an immense plot - IE 'Napoleon Dynamite'
I love movies that leave you with a WOW feeling - IE 'Fight Club'
I love movies that are just all around amazing - IE 'Life is Beautiful'
I love "dark, depressing" movies - IE 'Permanent Midnight'
I love cutesy, cleaver, movies that make you say "awwwww" - IE 'The Wedding Singer'
I love great movies that no one seems to care for - IE 'Mixed Nuts'
Anyway, I'm a little too bored...
Just please, I beg of you, nothing "teeny bopper", no Hillary Duff, Olsen Twins, Ben Affleck (save any Kevin Smith film, I will make exceptions for those... what Kevin Smith and Matt Damon see in Affleck's acting is beyond me...), I do appreciate movies with SUBSTANCE

Ok, this entry is one thousand times longer than I intended... I'm off to watch my movie now.

PLEEEEESE recommend me some flicks :)
